Understanding around the roots of plants (rhizosphere)

Unraveling the complex relationship between plants-symbiotic bacteria-soil

In our laboratory, we mainly conduct research on the interface between plants and soil (rhizosphere). The rhizosphere is a very complex environmental region where plants, soil, symbiotic bacteria and microorganisms exist, and it is very important for crop (plant) productivity.

We are conducting multidisciplinary research to understand the rhizosphere based on plant nutrition, physiology and soil science. By clarifying the mechanisms of nutrient acquisition by crops (plants) themselves or in symbiosis with fungi, and the mechanisms of adaptation to various stress environments, we aim to develop sustainable, safe, and secure agriculture while improving crop productivity.
